BREAKING: Russia's Imperial Ambitions Targets Ukraine.

From memes to a Russian invasion here's a simple rundown of what you need to know.

By Gabriel Velásquez

On the left is a Meme being sent out by the Official Ukrainian government Twitter account sent out on the 7th of December of 2021 when Russia was initially putting troops by Ukraine's border.

On the right, we see a photo by Alex Lourie of Redux Pictures showing a woman getting assistance fleeing from a civilian apartment complex that was just bombed on the 24th of February of 2022.

Things have obviously escalated in the time since Ukraine posts memes about having Russia as a neighboring nation. To now with 137 civilians and military personnel killed and hundreds more wounded so far, according to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. With President Vladimir V. Putin of Russia declaring a 'Military Operation' against Ukraine on February 23rd, 2022, it is clear to see that Russian Imperial Ambitions Boil Over into War with Ukraine.

Initially, due to us working on other articles for our publication we sent out a tweet saying.

But as time marched on as Russians did in Ukraine we have decided that it was in the publication's best interest to get involved with the Russian-Ukrainian conflict and help guide our readers to have a broader picture of what is going on in Ukraine and what other stories you should consider giving your attention to during this time.

What To Keep An Eye Out For

We need to pay special attention to inherently greedy corporations who will be attempting to lobby and goad policymakers and fellow citizens into pro-war thinking - particularly U.S. policymakers and American citizens. This is almost certain to happen because a war with Russia stands to bolster profits for a number of mega-corporations. We need to be alert and informed in order to call these companies and oligarchs when they attempt to profit off of this racket we call war.

The Reaction From Anti-War Movements Around The World

It should come as no surprise when imperialist actions take place in any country many of its citizens will protest said actions as we are no longer in the 19th century. This holds true for Russia as thousands of Russian citizens join anti-war protests after the Ukrainian invasion started.

Even in countries where the imperialist actions aren't done many anti-war protests take place across the U.S. this week regarding the Russian invasion of Ukraine. This serves as yet another stark reminder that you most likely have more in common with everyday Russian and Ukrainian citizens than you do with an oligarch from your country.
